Carol Whidby

Owner and Creative Director

Carol Whidby started dancing at age three and began teaching at the young age of 15. In 2002, Carol purchased Gerlock Dance Studio and has continued the traditions established by Josephine Gerlock.

I have the gift and pleasure of working with children everyday.  At Gerlock, we not only provide them with a foundation of dance skills, but life lessons as well. We always maintain positive attitudes and enthusiasm.

It is amazing to see the change in young children from the first day of dance, crying and not wanting to break away from their parents to two weeks later, they are running through the door, excited to be at dance! This is why I teach; the joy these children bring me everyday is what motivates me and is the driving force behind the studio.

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing our children perform and the confidence it brings them.  Our teaching aesthetic allows children to learn the technique while having fun.

Thank you for sharing your children with me!
